johnny's Gun 5
he decides to try and master the time because he has nothing else to do. the first time he attempts this he doesn't prevail because he cant keep track of time for very long. he cant keep his mind focused for long enough. the next time he attempts he is much more successful. he sticks with it and "times" his nurses. he figures out that he is getting treated every 2 hours, by the same nurse during the day. he is treated by different nurses at night. he figures out using the temperatures when it is night and day. i thought this was very interesting, because this is what they say when some one goes deaf and their eye sight gets better. because the only sense he has left is his touch so all his other senses are getting amazing.

Nice Blog. While at first Joe's attempt to master time seems to be stupid we can think deeper and realize that if he is able to keep track of time he will be in his own little world. He will be able to know when his birthday is, when New Years is, even if it is not that exact day in real life.
nice blog. I agree that it would be very difficult to count time all night. I'd probably only be able to count for 1hour. His methods arent very precise but they give him a good idea of the time of the day. Also he can figure out when a "new year" is. This gives him a sense of connection wtih the outside world because before he felt lost and disconnected.
